More Pictures…

OK, so I was told that people were having a hard time figuring out where pictures were so I will once again let pictures take over the blog.  I know we haven’t posted pictures in awhile, but things have been a little bit busy.  So I won’t keep jabbering because all you come here for is the pictures anyway.  I’m just kidding, I know some of you come here for my witty banter, but unfortunately, this post is not for you.  I will post witty banter some other time.  Here are a couple pictures of Caleb on tractor at breakfast on the farm.

With some of his money Caleb was able to purchase a swimming toy, so here he is playing with it on a couple occasions.

Daddy and Caleb playing in the new pool

Caleb and his buddy playing in the pool.

We also went to the zoo for Feast with the Beasts here in Madison.  Caleb and mommy got a picture with a lion.  I don’t have a really good picture of it, but later on Caleb thought it would be fun to play with the lion’s tail…it was hilarious because the guy in the suit didn’t know what to do.

Mandy watched one of Caleb’s buddies the other night, they were having a lot of fun just hamming it up.

Hamming it up.

Finally, the obligitory 4th

of July picture of him in red, white, and blue.  We were over at a friends house and I got this picture.

I hope you had a great 4th and hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Oh, the weather outside is frightful

Well, Tuesday night we had a delightful fire (thanks Mike & Penny for the fire pit), but the weather tonight is pretty bad… First, let me roll back to Sunday. We were at a graduation party as this storm front was rolling in.

Cloud front rolling in.

Here’s another view of it as it rolls towards us.

Through the weekend we were worried that we would get water in our basement. We rarely get water in our basement, but when we do it usually comes in through the window next to my office but we didn’t get any so we were relieved. Then, I went to get something out of our storage area on Tuesday night and found out we had gotten water in our storage area, but really all we lost were some cardboard boxes so we made out pretty well.

We are in the middle of another round of storms, most of you who read know about the waterway next to our house…it usually looks like this.

Caleb at a picnic in the culvert

You can see that the commons area is usually wide enough around the culvert that we had 2 picnic tables for people to sit at and plenty of room behind them…the culvert is that cement thing in the background.

Here is the culvert and common area tonight.

So far we do not have any water in our house, but the storm isn’t over yet, please pray with us and for the families affected by the storms. Have a great night.

Quick Post

OK, this has to be a really quick post, but I wanted to let you know what was going on.

First, I have published several pictures on our site using a photoblog application. Check out the links to the right to see our pictures.

Second, if you have not heard, go to http://www.stevencurtischapman.com/ to read about what happened and please be praying for Steven Curtis Chapman and his family.

Third, let it be known that the real American Idol, David Cook won last night (by 12 million votes from a total of 97 million votes) on American Idol.

Finally, I wanted to rant really quick about Charter Communications. We have our cable, phone, and internet through Charter. Yesterday morning, everything was working great, I was able to get my email, get on the internet, everything was hunky dory. Then, I went to work out. When I got home the internet was down. Thinking it was Vista and I knew that I had gotten an update the day before, I tried all sorts of things, then I did what I should have done and went upstairs to our other laptop and noticed that it wasn’t connecting either. I called Charter (I had to find our phone book first since we always use the internet to look everything up) and found out there was an outage in my area. Then, it asked if I wanted a phone call when the internet was back up. I thought it would be a good idea so I said yes. Later in the day, I was testing a website I was building on my laptop so I fired up my internet browser to point it at my local website and viola there is jeffmilessays.com…our internet was back up (keep in mind this was at about 3:00 PM yesterday afternoon). Guess when I got the phone call…9:44 AM this morning, a good 18 hours after the internet came back…way to go Charter.

Anyway, I have to head to the gym to whip my big booty into shape…Have a great day and enjoy the pictures.
